Vinolia Luxury Soap Giveaway

Foreign Lands and a Sweet Smelling Weekend Giveaway

South Africa - a land with unique blends, fragrances, colours and food.  A unique culture.

After studying for 3 years at varsity, I left for foreign lands.  Now for those of you that have done this, you know what it's like.  Mom normally makes a package specially for you and either sends it via snail mail or with someone's-child-who-is-also-travelling-and-who-you-have-never-met-but-these-two-mothers-think-you-will-be-the-bestest-of-friends! NOT!

These packages were always very special, a taste from home.  A very South African parcel - the marmite, biltong, fizzers.... the list was always endless.

Now I had all of these but I had one other thing I always asked for - Vinolia soap.  Yes I know, sounds silly doesn't it?

But I love these fragrant soaps.

I love them because it leaves the most amazing fragrance on your skin after you've been in the bath or shower and especially at times when I haven't had perfume. I often sniff my skin (OK so I know I'm odd) because I love the smell so much!

I have been using these luxury soaps ever since I can remember.  The others on the market just seem to fade in comparison.  They cost a little more but they are definitely worth it.

So because I love this soap so much and wanted to offer it as a giveaway, I contacted Amka and asked them for a giveaway for some of our readers - and they gave me 4 packages!  Each giveaway has 4 luxury body soaps - Lavender,  Sandalwood,  Wild Rose and Angel Lilly.

I was not approached, bribed or offered all sorts of benefits for this little advertorial.
I just wanted to share one of my favourite things.

To enter this giveaway, just answer the following question in the Comments section of this post:
“If you were far from your home country, what would you want your mother to send you in your parcel"
Would it be something to eat? Or would it be a special item from home?

Just comment and and you’re automatically entered to win these fragrant luxury soaps
One entry per person, please.
Winners will be selected at random and announced Wednesday evening at our Mother Matters Discussion Group.
This giveaway is open to everyone even if you live far far away! If you have won a giveaway before you are welcome to enter again!

  1. you mentioned a few except..the rusks...not Ouma, but good homemade..stuffed with seeds, nuts them..

  2. Some of her cookies, and biltong (of course) and definitely Vinolia Sandelwood. I love that one and my mom recently gave me one. I treasured it, and kept it away from the boys. Have to say it just keeps on being last on my shopping list and falls off due to more important things

  3. Jenni, rusks were definitely one of those "vital" items.
Esther, I so know what you mean. I also find that I am rather possessive about this particular soap, its called "mommy's soap" in this house:)

  4. A family member of mine was once asked to take a whole pocket of butternut overseas for a friend :-)
I would want some rooibos tea! And butternut if it were not available - but wld settle for 1 ;-)

  5. I was living in London and would crave Rooibos tea, biltong, Mrs Balls Chutney oh and Koeksisters!! :)

I remember getting these soaps as part of a 21st birthday gift basket, fell inlove with it then and still love it now.

    Great blog :)

  6. Koeksisters oh yes, who could forget those!
These soaps are really addictive aren't they Aneesa? I find that the general reaction of most people who use the soap is that they tried it once and then they are totally addicted. So glad to know that I am not the only one.

  7. I know koeksisters should have been on the top of my list LOL!

I must say I kept my soaps in the gift basket for over a year because it looked so pretty and smelled so nice but once I used it I never went back :)

  8. Homemade Buttermilk rusks, and biscuits like Crunchies, Soetkoekies and Jam Squares,- made by my Mom. Would it be greedy to also ask for some biltong? Not the yukky kind in vacuum packs, a dry stick fresh from the farm with a wire still in it ;-) Interestingly, the Lavender Vinolia still reminds me of my granny, I always bought it for her cos she loved it, the Rose, my Mom, cos she loves it, and I love the Sandalwood.

  9. Jam squares are a goodie, funny Sandalwood is always been my favourite but just recently I have been really enjoying the Wild Rose

Go ahead, leave a comment! I would love to hear from you!
